The casino floor

The casino is open 11am to 12am daily. SIGA's profile lists 6 table games here, but the casino publishes no table games page and no table hours. Before planning around a card game, call 306-577-4577. All events there are 19+. Holiday hours should be checked on bearclawcasino.ca.

Bear Claw is one of seven SIGA casinos on SIGA Rewards, one card with four tiers: Emerald, Gold, Platinum and Diamond. At SIGA casinos, anyone under 19 is a prohibited individual. Their winnings are withheld under SIGA's Disentitlement of Winnings policy, in effect since June 30, 2016.

Rooms and dining

Bear Claw Hotel opened on July 1, 2010 as SIGA's first destination resort. It has 35 guest rooms, including 5 suites. Children under 12 stay free with an adult, and pet-friendly queen rooms are available for a fee. Parking at the hotel is free.

The front desk is open 6am to 9:45pm daily, while the casino floor stays open until 12am. Late arrivals should plan around that desk cut-off. Growlers Restaurant serves from 11:30am to 9pm daily.

For room bookings, call the hotel at 306-577-4588 or toll free at 1-877-909-2327. The casino line is 306-577-4577. Mail goes to Box 1210, Carlyle SK S0C 0R0.

Since 1993

Bear Claw Casino first opened in 1993 on the White Bear First Nations, near Carlyle in southeast Saskatchewan. After three months of operation, the provincial government closed it and pressed charges through the court system. The casino describes that period as "a highly contentious and emotional part of history between First Nations and the provincial government regarding gaming".

The casino reopened in November 1996, and the hotel followed on July 1, 2010. Bear Claw Casino & Hotel calls itself SIGA's most historic casino.

On the road

All SIGA casinos welcome RVs, and that includes Bear Claw. Guests travelling in recreational vehicles register with a SIGA Rewards card at Guest Services. There are no reservations, and all RV guests must be 19+.

In straight lines, Bear Claw is 403.7 km from Saskatoon City Hall and 182.5 km from Regina City Hall. These are not driving distances. Painted Hand Casino is 161.7 km away in a straight line. Gold Horse Casino is 659.4 km away, the longest gap between any two of the nine.
