Hours and floor

Living Sky Casino opens at 10am and closes at 2am, seven days a week. There is no late Friday and no early Sunday: the clock reads the same each day. Holiday hours are not given here, so check them on livingskycasino.ca before setting out. All times are Saskatchewan time, which stays on Central Standard Time all year.

Live tables open at 5pm. From Sunday to Thursday they close at 1:30am, and on Friday and Saturday they run to 2am, the casino's own closing time. Poker starts at 6pm. Horizons Restaurant serves from 11am to 10pm daily, so a meal can come before the tables open or between hands.

The name and the story

In the casino's own words, the name "Living Sky" relates to the northern lights and stars and their connection to past generations of First Nations ancestry. SIGA's list of its casinos pairs Living Sky Casino with Nekaneet First Nation.

The road to the doors began with a ballot. In 2003, Swift Current citizens voted 55% in favour of casino development, and the province approved it in 2004. Living Sky Casino opened in December 2008, just off the Trans-Canada Highway. It serves southwest Saskatchewan as one of the seven casinos SIGA operates. The other six are in Lloydminster, North Battleford, Prince Albert and Yorkton, on White Bear First Nation near Carlyle and on Whitecap Dakota First Nation south of Saskatoon.
