Straight lines, published hours, dated facts

Checked October 7, 2026

By Tia Monroe

Every distance in this guide is a straight line between two points on a map, not a road route. Every hour is the casino's own, and every fact carries the date it was checked: October 7, 2026.

How the lines are drawn

Each of the nine casinos has one pair of map coordinates, taken from OpenStreetMap. So do the three fixed starting points: Saskatoon City Hall, Regina City Hall and Prince Albert. The guide computes the straight line between two points and prints it to one decimal place.

These are not driving distances. A road route is a different measurement, and the guide gives no drive times, not even rough ones.

The word nearest appears only where these figures settle it. From Saskatoon City Hall that is Dakota Dunes Casino, at 26.9 km. From Regina City Hall it is Casino Regina, at 0.8 km, and from Prince Albert it is Northern Lights Casino, at 2.4 km. Between casinos, Casino Regina and Casino Moose Jaw are 65.9 km apart, the shortest gap among the nine. Gold Horse and Bear Claw sit 659.4 km apart, the longest of all.

How the hours are read

Hours on this site are copied as each casino publishes them. All of Saskatchewan stays on Central Standard Time, UTC-6, all year, with no clock change. The open or closed marker on the map reads that clock.

The tool's week starts on Monday. A closing time after midnight stays with the evening it belongs to, so a Friday that runs to 4am reads as one night.

Where a casino's own pages disagree, the tool says so rather than choosing one. Casino Regina is the case in point: its pages give different Sunday hours, so a Sunday visit needs a call to 1-800-555-3189 first. Holiday hours appear nowhere on this site and should be checked on each venue's own site.

Where the facts come from

Every fact on this site was checked on October 7, 2026. The sources are the casinos' own pages, SIGA, LGS, the Government of Saskatchewan and the helpline's site, spgh.ca.

SLGA is the exception. On that date slga.com could not be reached, so facts from SLGA come from archived copies of its pages. Those facts are marked for re-checking, and the guide will compare them with the live pages once they load again.

Each fact sits in the guide's notes with its source and a short quote from that source. When two official pages give different figures, the guide leaves the figure out or says plainly that the pages differ.
